Because conversations became texting, arguments became phone calls, feelings became subliminal messages online, sex became easy, the word “love” gets used out of context, insecurities have become your way of thinking, getting jealous became a habit, trust has been lost, cheating became an accident, leaving became the only option & being hurt became natural.

kingdom bryant - the name explained.

First Name: Kingdom

Last Name: Bryant

  • Kingdom. The reasoning behind the name is; my first name is Donnell which is an alternate version of Donald, which means “world ruler”. I translated that as “King”. My nickname in high school was “Demonte” (d-mon-tee) which was the D from my first name and the MONT from my middle name “Lamont”. And high school I used to draw everyone, so someone said after seeing my artwork, that “I could create my own kingdom of people”. Great idea I thought. That led to me building a website called “thedemontekingdom” and after using that for years, I dropped the first part and just started using KINGDOM as my tag.
  • Bryant - It’s to pay homage to my Grandmother, Loretta Bryant. And it’s still a greater part of my families’ last name.

So, since becoming an adult (like 4 years ago) I decided I wanted to write a book and be taken seriously. So instead of having some tag, and to me, being hood about it, I wanted to keep it personal to me, while at the same time being URBAN. Urban & hood are not the same. So that’s the reason. Stop calling me Bryant. :o

“Trace Heavens” is a series of gorgeous light installations by James Nizam. Even though he is a friend of mine I feel I am being completely unbiased when I say these are some of the most beautiful images I’ve ever posted on Booooooom. To create these images James painstakingly made incisions into the structure of a house to capture and manipulate sunlight into light sculptures.
